Taushifa Shaikh is a senior analyst with the Pembina Institute’s buildings program. Her work focuses on advancing the Reframed Initiative to accelerate deep retrofits and reduce emissions in Canada’s building sector. She brings cross-sector experience in academia, government, and non-profit organizations, with a focus on research and government relations. Taushifa believes in building climate solutions from the ground up, working with communities and local leaders to lead an effective and equitable transition to sustainability.
Taushifa holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from University of British Columbia. At UBC, her research contributed to identifying areas of improvement at all levels of government and developed policy recommendations to reduce embodied carbon emissions in Canada’s building sector.
In her free time, you can find her exploring new neighborhoods, thrifting, running, or getting overly competitive at board games. Taushifa is based in Vancouver.
