Hannah Hunter is a Senior Analyst with the Pembina Institute’s Sustainable Workforce program, based in Ottawa. Her work focuses on clean energy workforce and skills policy and the labour implications of Canada’s transition to a clean economy.
Prior to joining the Pembina Institute, Hannah worked in post-secondary education advocacy, leading policy and government relations work on workforce development issues including apprenticeship, work-integrated learning, and mid-career upskilling. Before moving into policy work, she was a Vanier Scholar at Queen’s University, where her research and teaching focused on the human dimensions of environmental change. She also served on the executive of Public Service Alliance of Canada Local 901, which helped to shape her interest in workforce and labour policy.
Hannah holds a PhD in Geography from Queen’s University, an MA in Environment, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Birmingham. Originally from the U.K., Hannah enjoys gravel biking, birding, reading, and playing football in her spare time.
