This report provides information for potential investors to assess CDM opportunities in Bangladesh. The report analyzes the country's preparedness to implement the CDM and proposes set of projects that would most likely be accepted by the Government of Bangladesh and other stakeholders in the country. The report includes a review of Bangladesh government policy on the CDM, provides an inventory of GHG emissions for Bangladesh, describes experience to date on other GHG reduction programs such as AIJ, and provides an analysis of CDM project opportunities in each sector.As a particularly vulnerable country, Bangladesh is keen to see progress in global efforts at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. From activities of the Government in the last two years including their active participation in the COP6, it has become clear that Bangladesh would like to benefit from CDM. Whether we are talking about buying or selling, municipalities could benefit from aggregation—joining together with other communities to gain benefits of scale and overcome barriers faced in isolation.
