Publication - Oct. 18, 2012 - By Timothy Shah, Katie Laufenberg, Ellen Pond

One potential way to encourage drivers to purchase Electric Vehicles is to increase the access to public charging stations. Municipalities are now considering their potential roles in installing EV charging stations on their own land and encouraging businesses in their communities to do the same. To help such municipalities, Pembina interviewed staff from five municipalities in Washington and Oregon to provide insights into the factors for success in planning and installing EV charging stations and the challenges that remain. This report summarizes the findings of these interviews.
