Canada’s path to net-zero by 2050 requires more than technical solutions — it demands a workforce prepared for change. This workshop, hosted by the Pembina Institute and the University of Victoria’s Accelerating Community Energy Transformation (ACET) initiative, will bring together experts and practitioners to tackle labour-market challenges in B.C.’s clean-energy transition. Participants will explore strategies to address skills shortages, training gaps, job quality, and equity barriers, with a focus on rural and resource-dependent communities. Together, we will identify further research areas and co-create solutions that build a resilient, inclusive workforce ready for a low-carbon future.
