Budget 2024: Environmental Implications

#Budget2024: Environmental Implications

What does the federal budget mean for climate-readiness, affordability, and jobs?

Public Multistakeholder dialogue
Apr. 18, 2024 1:00pm - 2:00pm (EST)

Join GreenPAC and the #budget2024 panel for a high-level overview of the federal budget.

Does the budget live up to the expectations of environmental advocates and civil society?

Budget2024 is being delivered during a time of cost of living pressures, housing affordability issues, and many other competing public priorities. Our panelists will highlight where key environmental priorities land in Budget2024, from energy efficiency to sustainable jobs to climate adaptation, and reflect on their framing in connection to other public priorities and the overall direction of the economy.

Kendall Anderson, program director of Equitable Transition for the Pembina Institute, joins Alex Callahan, national director of Health, Safety and Environment for the Canadian Labour Congress, and Corey Diamond, executive director of Efficiency Canada, for a panel discussion moderated by Shakti Ramkumar, senior director of policy and communications at Student Energy, with special guest, Andrew Van Iterson, manager of the Green Budget Coalition.
