Sarah Palmer is a senior governance, policy, and legal professional with over 25 years of experience in environmental law, conservation leadership, and nonprofit governance. She has held senior management roles with the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y), where she led strategic planning, conservation programs, and government relations across Canada and the United States, and worked closely with conservation organizations, donors/funders, governments and community leaders to advance large scale conservation outcomes.
Sarah brings extensive board and governance experience, having served as chair, vice chair, and committee chair for numerous organizations. She is currently vice chair of the Alberta Ballet Company, vice-president of the Chawkers Foundation and director with the Palmer Family Foundation. She also sits on the Advisory Council with the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy.
Sarah holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Relations from Bucknell University.
