
Michelle Bartleman is a communications lead, based in Calgary.
Prior to joining the Pembina Institute in 2018, she was a newspaper reporter in central Alberta and New Brunswick, and has previously worked at media outlets in Ontario, B.C. and Alaska. She also interned with the CBC news bureau in London, U.K. and CBC Radio in Ottawa.
Michelle holds bachelor’s degrees in both journalism and aviation from the University of Alaska Anchorage, as well as a Master of Journalism from Carleton University. Before completing her graduate studies she was a national athlete on the Canadian skeleton team for six years and a college gymnast.
Off the clock, Michelle is an avid traveller, a language lover, a coffee shop enthusiast and a serial Olympic Games volunteer.
