Lorena Dexter Chaichian

Lorena Dexter Chaichian is the Pembina Institute's communications manager, Industrial Decarbonization. She is based in Vancouver.

Lorena has always been driven to work that drives social impact. Prior to joining the Pembina Institute, Lorena held communications leadership roles at the University of British Columbia at both the Sauder School of Business and the Faculty of Arts. She also held communications positions at the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue and the David Suzuki Foundation. In addition, she’s a freelance features writer, most recently through speculative fiction focusing on climate action.

Lorena obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Simon Fraser University and a diploma in Broadcast Communications from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She also holds a certificate in French studies from the University of Québec at Chicoutimi. She is certified as a Strategic Communications Management Professional (SCMP) from the International Association of Business Communicators.

In her off hours, Lorena enjoys spending time with her family, reading non-fiction books and exploring the beautiful forests of the Pacific Spirit Park.
