David Pickup is the director of the Electricity program for the Pembina Institute, where he develops solutions to support reliable, affordable and emission-free electricity grids in Canada.
David's experience spans many sectors and organization types in Canada and the U.K., including education, consulting, public service and policy advocacy. He most recently led the Energy Management Diploma at Norquest College, teaching Canadian energy and climate policy topics alongside program leadership.
He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics and a master's research degree in physics, both from the University of Warwick. David is based in Calgary, where you can often find him exploring with his partner, daughter and two dogs.
