The Pembina Institute, along with Alberta Wilderness Association, CPAWS Northern Alberta, CPAWS Southern Alberta, Nature Alberta, and Southern Alberta Group for the Environment, submitted a joint letter to Alberta's Minister of Environment and Protected Areas Rebecca Schulz and Alberta's Minister of Affordability and Utilities Nathan Neudorf providing general recommendations on a number of critical issues concerning land use and renewable energy in Alberta.

These recommendations complement further specific recommendations that may be made as part of the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) Inquiry into the ongoing economic, orderly and efficient development of electricity generation in Alberta.
