Iain McMullan

Iain McMullan is the Pembina Institute's director of strategic partnerships, responsible for the income that funds our policy work. He has spent 25 years in various roles in the fundraising sector around the world, including at the University of Manchester, London Business School, and KAUST in Saudi Arabia. He also spent many years as a fundraising consultant advising on all manner of strategic and operational problems.

He grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland and holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Durham, England. His early career was as a grain trader in western Canada, and he was working in Alberta when the Lodgepole blowout occurred (the event that led to the creation of the Pembina Institute). When not at work Iain can be found either close to water, on it (paddling his kayak) or in it (trying to get back in his kayak). In the winter, he's more likely on snowshoes or cross country skis.
