This is one of a number of reports that provide the background for the Genuine Progress Indicator System of Sustainable Well-being Accounts. It explains how we derived the municipal solid waste index, and the hazardous waste index that were published in "Sustainability Trends 2000: The Genuine Progress Statement for Alberta, 1961 to 1999. This report describes data sources, methodologies and presents the specific data for each of the indicators covered in this report.
