Creating a More Resilient YellowknifeClimate Change Impacts and Municipal Decision Making

Publication - May 2, 2007 - By Jake Pryor, Paul Cobb

Like many northern communities, the City of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, has witnessed impacts on municipal infrastructure that are in part attributable to climate change. As a result, the City undertook a project aimed at developing the tools, capacity, and decision-making processes necessary to systematically address community climate change impacts as they emerge. This final project report includes information about Yellowknife and climate change; the results of a series of climate change adaptation workshops held for municipal decision makers; and recommendations to help the City become a model of climate change adaptation decision making.
