Following our participation in a multi-stakeholder workshop on Oct. 4, 2019 with respect to an ongoing review of the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Pembina Institute provided detailed feedback and recommendations on specific programs and initiatives under the AER. The submission summarized our assessment of the current function and operation of the regulator, and outlined issues that the ongoing review must address to ensure the credibility and proper function of the sole regulator of oil, gas and coal industries in Alberta.
