The Pembina Institute advances sustainable energy solutions through innovative research, education, consulting and advocacy. We are working to support renewable energy through the following activities and program areas:
Advancing Federal and Provincial RE Policy
Through landmark studies like Renewable Is Doable and participation in stakeholder consultations. Pembina seeks to maximize the use of renewable energy federally and in key provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. We also assess national policies and make policy recommendations to support RE throughout Canada.
Working to Identify and Implement RE Solutions
Through our Sustainable Communities Group, we work collaboratively with First Nations, municipalities, and partners in developing countries in activities such as community energy planning and integrated community sustainability planning, as well as advocating for smart growth.
Pembina assists communities in identifying and implementing renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions to meet local energy needs more sustainably.
