Chris Higgins, Green Building Planner with the City of Vancouver, presents Vancouver’s experience working with certified energy advisors to support building officials in ensuring houses meet the new code requirements for energy efficiency. Chris provides a summary of the labelling (at time of permitting) policy implemented in 2009, and the changes made to the policy in 2014. He also discusses how the city has worked with certified energy advisors to implement the policy.

Chris Frye, Manager of Canada’s EnerGuide Rating System Implementation, provides an overview of the new EnerGuide Rating System, and its launch strategy for B.C. .
