There has been a recent surge of odour and air quality concerns in northern Alberta associated with the expansion of oilsands development. The specific cause of these odours varies in different regions, but the concern from the public is the same: the odours reduce residents’ quality of life, and in some cases result in impacts to both mental and physical health.
