“I am honoured and humbled by this recognition especially given the other exceptional individuals named as climate champions today. We have seen real progress toward climate action this year. With Canada’s commitment to reduce emissions 40 to 45 per cent by 2030, the recognition that carbon pricing is essential, and multi-party support for a clean fuel standard, I am heartened by the progress made so far to address this most urgent crisis head-on. We have a tremendous opportunity before us. As momentum builds toward COP26, we will continue to push for solutions that are inclusive, fair, and sustainable so that everyone can prosper in a greener economy.”
